Genuine Cable Group Names Mike Milligan as CFO
Leading wire and cable supplier Genuine Cable Group (GCG) has named Mike Milligan its Chief Financial Officer. Milligan will be utilizing his deep finance knowledge and experience to build and organize a finance team to support the rapid growth GCG anticipates in the coming years.
Milligan’s 35 years of finance and accounting experience includes CFO roles at both private equity-owned and publicly traded companies. In his career he spent 14 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and was the CFO of NES Rentals, a private equity-owned equipment rental company that grew significantly during Mike’s tenure and was sold to United Rentals in 2017 for $975 million.
“Having a solid finance team in place is essential for us to remain customer-centric and responsive,” said Steve Maucieri, CEO of GCG. “Mike will pull from his experience in large, high-growth organizations as he shapes our finance team and processes for what GCG will become.”
In 2019 GCG was purchased by Audax Group, a private-equity firm that recognized the strong marketplace demand for the wire, cable and related products supplied by the targeted GCG business segments. Since the purchase Audax has invested heavily to improve GCG’s ability to meet the needs of its customers.
Milligan recognizes the critical role finance plays in GCG’s success. He said “Our customers have come to expect GCG to be quick in responding to their needs. We are creating a finance team that will be equally nimble so that our internal teams and customers have what they need when they need it.”
