GCG Receives Johnson Controls’ Silver Service Award
Chicago, Illinois – January 24, 2024 – GCG, a global value-added distributor of communications, network, automation, OEM and datacenter products and solutions has received the prestigious Silver Supplier Execution Award from Johnson Controls, a world leader in smart building technologies. The award reflects GCG’s successful efforts to meet the needs and high standards of Johnson Controls.
Like many companies, Johnson Controls came out of the pandemic with an opportunity pipeline bursting at the seams but in some cases with an uncertain supply-chain network to support their business needs. GCG listened, understood the challenge, and quickly created customized solutions tailored to Johnson Controls’ specific needs, mobilizing the resources required to execute the plan. Utilizing project management principles, clear communications and mutually agreed upon outcomes, GCG acted as an extension of Johnson Controls, handling menial project tasks, allowing them to focus on their critical organizational objectives and priorities.
Rick Deisner, GCG Account Director, led GCG’s work with Johnson Controls. “Our breadth of product and service offerings met the varied needs of Johnson Controls,” Rick said. “To ensure they got what they needed when they needed it we assigned one of GCG’s multiple Project Managers to ensure nothing fell through the cracks.”
The Johnson Controls Silver Supplier Execution award announcement mentioned that the award was given to GCG “In recognition of its efforts in engaging and aligning with all of Johnson Controls’ goals and objectives in fiscal 2023, specifically, in its efforts in supporting our global growth with its supply chain sustainability efforts, mitigating inventory issues and GCG’s commitment to Johnson Controls’ sustainability requirements.” Johnson Controls gave GCG a score of 93/100 on the supplier review scorecard, which includes ratings for cost, ESG, resilience, delivery and quality. GCG received a perfect score on delivery and quality. Additionally, GCG submitted their Business Continuity Plan and has an ESG program tied to EcoVadis to meet Johnson Controls’ requirements.
“We are very proud to receive the recognition from such a respected organization,” said Glenn Liacouras, GCG Senior Vice President of Sales. “GCG’s nimble and responsive approach, along with Johnson Control’s high level of engagement and transparency, allowed for a truly customized, optimal
solution.”
As a rule, GCG immerses itself in its customer’s business, solving near-term issues and, even more
